Hi, and welcome to this recap episode of How to Be a Real 1%er, the podcast where we're redefining what it means to be successful from this incessant drive for something on the outside to living the life we were truly born to live, which is all the external success we would love to have, and most importantly, a genuine connection to who we are.

We just completed a really amazing episode with Sam Tuuta, and again, as so many times in these podcasts with the amazing guests that are on them, there were so many things that we could pick out for this recap.

And the idea of the recap is just to go a bit deeper. My hope with this podcast is that for those of you that are watching, you'll take something from it, you can apply it to your life. I'm all about transformation and living our greatest life so we're doing everything we can here to give you, what we can to help you to start doing that today if you'd like to.

And generally, what we do is just pick one thing out of the episode and just deepen that a little bit or expand on that. And there were so many things to choose from in, in Sam's one. If you haven't seen it, make sure to go back and, and have a look. But the thing that really struck out probably the most to me is, when she talked about self-talk and just how much that she has been able to achieve or experience, and how much she's been able to change her life through that one thing. You know? Through looking at the judgments that she had, you know, coming in and deciding you know, because she came for a weight situation in the beginning, which she described, and, you know, believing herself to be a fat pig. And oh, she was really just hard on herself, as I know many people are, because I’ve seen many other people that feel the same way, and I’ve been that way about certain aspects of myself in judging my own body and how I look, and, you know, different things at different times.

So, we can all have these harsh judgments about who we are. Hers was particularly harsh, and it was leading her to a way that, that wasn't going to be great for her. And, you know, what we did was to uncover, you know, you're seeing a theme hopefully by now in these podcasts with the guests, that one of the themes is they're all addressing stories. Things that they've decided that are judgmental about themselves or others, or limiting in some way. And by taking a close look at them in the way that we do, they're able to snap out of those, either completely or to a large degree, snap out of those and into a more genuine self, that's more self-loving and, I love Sam's words, more actually proud of ourselves, which is completely okay to be. And it works far better to be proud of yourself than to judge yourself into oblivion. It's just so much of a better pathway in every way, shape, or form, contrary to what we sometimes learn from others in life.

And so, when she talked about that, you know, addressing that and facing it and going, "Wait a second. I am not. I'm just the way I am, and if I want to be a different way, I can become a different way," rather than try to beat herself into it, which is what I see a lot of people do. And it's what I see that doesn't work. Or even if it does work, we go get the weight back, or we get the, whatever it is back because we haven't really addressed the underlying root issue, and that's what we're thinking about ourselves.

And so, she just did such an amazing job, and I'd just really like to expand on the notion of if you change your self-talk, your whole life changes, you know? And that's what Sam really brought to us. Her business life changed, her weight changed obviously, and it's been kept off, you know, for at least three years now, and it didn't... It's not a great effort. She's just in a different mind space. The relationships that, you know, she was talking about in her life that are better, it's the connection. I think the real brilliant, the big gift here is the connection between changing your self-talk, stop believing the negative judgments about yourself and life and others, and start to see what's really true, and just watch the impact that that has on all aspects of our life.

She even mentioned, going to the financial freedom course, which is something that I, a course that we offer, and, you know, coming to that and realising, that how she could have breakthroughs in that and the limiting beliefs that are around that.

So, there's no aspect of life that if we change our self, sorry, what I wanted to say was, talking about the six people that called her while she was in it, because she was changing the self-talk. It sounds strange to some people, but, you know, what I'm hoping to demonstrate on this podcast with person after person after person who's been through it is that it really does work. If you change your mindset, your life changes accordingly, and it's the, I don't know, whatever you want to call it, it's the thing that a lot of us are missing, and when we get that, once we see it, you just get it and say, "Okay, you know what? I'm not going to buy into self, negative self-talk anymore." I'm going to notice it. Like Sam said, it could still come up. I'm going to do something about it. I'm going to reconnect with myself. I'm just going to live that version of my life. I'd love to encourage you, from this podcast to start doing that, and just watch what happens.

So, thank you for watching this episode, and, I’ll look forward to seeing you with another great guest, on the next episode of How to Be a Real 1%er.
